The Host Cities Unveiled for the New 2025 Volleyball Nations League

Centre Vidéotron to Host Men's Opening Week in June 2025

Quebec, Tuesday, December 10, 2024 – In preparation for the highly anticipated 2025 Volleyball Nations League, Volleyball World has announced the host cities, divisions, team schedules, and ticket details for next year’s expanded and refreshed tournament. Fans from around the globe will have the opportunity to gather in some of the world’s most iconic cities to see the top teams battle for the glory of the Volleyball Nations League. The Canadian sites are Ottawa (women) at TD Place from June 4 to 8, and Quebec (men) at Centre Vidéotron from June 11 to 15, 2025.

Ticket Sale Information

To not miss the live volleyball action as the world’s top teams vie for a spot on the podium, fans can purchase five-day packages starting this week:

  • December 10, 10:00 AM - Pre-sale for subscribers of the Volleyball Canada newsletter, Rouge et Or Volleyball, Centre Vidéotron, and the Quebec Remparts.
  • December 12, 10:00 AM - Public sale on gestev.com and ticketmaster.ca.

Single-day tickets will be available closer to the event.

“We are very excited to host the Volleyball Nations League at Centre Vidéotron in 2025,” said Martin Tremblay, President of Gestev. “For people in Quebec, this will be a unique chance to see the world’s elite in action!”

“We’re thrilled to partner with the local organizing committee, including the Rouge et Or volleyball club, to welcome six top men’s teams to Centre Vidéotron. Quebec has a strong volleyball community and fan base, and the Volleyball Nations League will bring an extra level of excitement and entertainment,” said Alan Ahac, Director of International Events at Volleyball Canada.

Alongside the Canadian team, Germany, Argentina, Bulgaria, France, and Italy will compete in Quebec. France is the reigning Olympic champion and the 2024 Volleyball Nations League champion. They are the highest-ranked team in this phase. The men’s world ranking can be found here.

Notably, five of the six teams in Quebec participated in the Paris Olympics.

Women's and Men's Opening Matches

The women's competition will take place from June 4 to 8 in Ottawa, Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), and Beijing (China). The men's tournament will begin on June 11 in Quebec, Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), and Beijing (China) and continue until June 15.

Second Week of Action

From June 18 to 22, the women’s tournament will take place in Istanbul (Turkey), Hong Kong (China), and Belgrade (Serbia). The men’s competition will follow from June 25 to 29 in Burgas (Bulgaria), Chicago (USA), and Belgrade (Serbia). To improve player recovery, the 2025 schedule includes a new rest week from June 30 to July 6, following the second week of the men’s competition.

Final Week of the Preliminary Round

The women’s teams will complete the preliminary round from July 9 to 13 in Apeldoorn (Netherlands), Arlington (USA), and Chiba (Japan). The men’s teams will finish their final preliminary matches from July 16 to 20 in Gdansk (Poland), Ljubljana (Slovenia), and Chiba (Japan).

The 2025 Volleyball Nations League promises unforgettable moments as the world’s best volleyball talents come together for an electrifying competition. Everyone is invited to join this thrilling sporting event!

New Features for the Volleyball Nations League

The 2025 tournament marks the beginning of a new era for international volleyball with major changes designed to attract more fans worldwide:

  • Expansion from 16 to 18 teams per gender.
  • New men's teams: China and Ukraine.
  • New women's teams: Czech Republic and Belgium.
  • A revamped preliminary round with 216 matches played over three weeks.
  • Each team will play 12 matches with rotating pools across three host cities each week.
  • Increased athlete recovery and preparation time, ensuring high-energy performances.

Announcement of Final Phase Host Cities Coming Soon

The finals will take place from July 23 to 27 for the women and from July 30 to August 3 for the men. The host cities will be revealed shortly.
