Québec City, Tuesday, September 9, 2025 — On Friday, September 12, the Videotron Centre will officially mark its 10th anniversary, celebrating a decade of unforgettable shows. Since opened its doors on September 12, 2015, the arena has hosted major world premieres, beloved local performers and championship-winning Québec Remparts hockey.

“I am very proud of what we have accomplished over the past 10 years,” says Martin Tremblay, President of Gestev. “We have made the Videotron Centre a must destination for concerts and entertainment. This anniversary is atime to celebrate everything we have built with our teams, our partners, and aboveall, thepeople of Québec City. Thecommunity has embraced the VideotronCentre and it is thanks to them that we have become a world-class destination. Last week’s announcements about the IIHF Women’s World Hockey Championship in 2027 and World Junior Hockey Championship in 2029 are perfect examples. I am very upbeat about the years ahead.”

“The last ten years have demonstrated the appetite of Quebec City's sporting and cultural community, as well as the international community, for this venue worthy of the greatest cities, and the response of Quebec City residents to the events held there month after month remains as enthusiastic as ever. The Videotron Centre will continue to be a source of pride for Quebec City residents for many years to come,” said Bruno Marchand, Mayor of Quebec City.

Spotlight on aremarkable first decade

Since it opened in 2015, the Videotron Centre has become one of the busiest arenas in Canada. Year after year, it ranks 5th on Pollstar’s list of top performance venues by ticket sales. Metallica opened the arena in style with a memorable show 10 years ago, setting the tone for a decade of excitement that established the venue as a premier stage for Québec performers, international headliners and elite athletes. It has hosted nearly 800 events, including 308 concerts, and welcomed nearly eight million visitors.

More than just a venue, the arena has earned a reputation as a world-class stage for North American and international premieres. Among others, Paul McCartney, Céline Dion and, most recently, Billie Eilish have kicked off world tours in Québec City. Many artists have returned, charmed by Québec City’s hospitality and audiences. Singing legend CélineDion has appeared on the Videotron Centre stage no fewer than eight times. Other returning acts include the rock band Pearl Jam, the popular Québec band Les Cowboys Fringants, country queen Shania Twain, Imagine Dragons, Katy Perry, Roger Waters, Muse and Bryan Adams, who will be making his fourth visit this fall.

Sporting excellence

The Videotron Centre has also become a hub for major sporting events in Québec. It is now recognized as one of North America’s premier boxing venues, having staged 12 major events. The Beterbiev-Smith unified light heavyweight world championship fight, the arena’s biggest boutto date, was aresounding success. Christian Mbilli’s careerhas flourishedat theVideotron Centre, thanks to the strong partnership between Gestev and Eye of the Tiger.

The Videotron Centre has also hosted nine NHL exhibition games, more than 300 Québec Remparts games, the Volleyball Nations League and the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) Clash, all of which thrilled sports fans from near and far. In the historic PWHL women’s hockey game at the Videotron Centre, the Montréal Victoire took to the ice before a sold-out crowd.

As the home of the Québec Remparts, the Videotron Centre has seen some historic moments, including the return of Patrick Roy in September 2018 and hockey legend Guy Lafleur’s last major public appearance for the retirement of his No. 4 jersey by the Québec Maritime Junior Hockey League in a ceremony held at the Videotron Centre in October 2021. The 2023 playoffs, in which the Remparts won the Gilles-Courteau Trophy and the Memorial Cup, were another high point. That playoff run shattered Canadian Hockey League attendance records, with three sold-out games drawing 18,259 fans each.

To mark the Videotron Centre’s 10th anniversary, the community will be invited to enjoy free activities in the coming months, including guided tours of the arena and free public skating.
