THE PRODUCERS - A STORY WORTHY OF MEL BROOKS' UNBRIDLED MADNESS

Originally a film for which Mel Brooks won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay in 1969, the musical comedy The Producers, which the filmmaker and actor himself adapted for the stage, was applauded for over six years on Broadway after its premiere in 2001. The story is worthy of Mel Brooks' unbridled madness, audacity and gentle irreverence: a once-successful producer is on the verge of bankruptcy, but one day a shy young accountant stumbles into his office and unwittingly comes up with the idea of an investor scam to replenish his coffers. To do this, they have to put on the worst musical of all time, finding the worst writer, the worst director and the most indigestible actors and actresses. But nothing goes according to plan, and the duo learn that while chasing success can lead to failure, chasing failure can sometimes lead to success... in spite of themselves. To this day, this adaptation of Mel Brooks' masterpiece remains the most awarded musical in Broadway history, garnering 12 Tony Awards!

Tommy Joubert (Leopold Bloom), French theater artist Marianne Orlowski (Ulla Inga Hansen), Benoît Finley (Roger De Brie), Jean-Luke Côté (Carmen Ghia) and Thiery Dubé (Franz Liebkind) will revolve around the central character Max Bialystock, played by veteran actor Serge Postigo. Tommy Durand (Révolution, Le Bodyguard), Jordan Donoghue (Rock of Ages, Hair) Kathline Gréco, Audrey Mainguy, Sarah Johnston, Alexandre Iannuzzi, Raiko Portuondo, Sophie Caron, Song Wang, Stéphanie Paquet and Megan Brydon complete the cast!

Les Producteurs will run at the Théâtre St-Denis in Montreal from March 28 to April 14, 2024, at the Théâtre Capitole in Quebec City from June 27 to July 28, 2024, at the Amphithéâtre Cogeco in Trois-Rivières on September 21, 2024, and at the Théâtre du Casino du Lac-Leamy in Gatineau from September 26 to October 5, 2024.
